REGISTERED CHARITY No. 1139170
Think fundraising is about a dull couple of hours with a collection tin… well think again! As a charity that is entirely dependent on fundraising activities we really have to make the most out of every fundraising opportunity. In the last 2 years our small team of volunteers have arranged fashion shows, bowling nights, pub quizzes, sponsored walks, celebrity auctions. We have even walked across hot coals!!
At the fayres and fetes our fundraisers sell goods they have designed and crafted themselves; face paint, glitter tattoo, arrange merchandise and tombola to sell and dress up as ‘Purrs’ our giant cat mascot . You could be part of this (and our many social events) and we will of course train you, or perhaps you have your own skills to bring to the table.
This is not your average fundraising opportunity, but then again Bolton and Bury Cat Rescue is not your average charity. Formed 2 years ago by a group of volunteers who decided they wanted to make a real difference to the lives of animals in the local area, we set the charity up with nothing and have been fundraising hard ever since! We ensure that every penny we raise is spent directly to help the cats and kittens in our care.
We need new volunteers to support and promote our existing events and to get creative and start developing and managing new ideas. Our wonderful team will of course help you every step of the way, and as we are all volunteers too we really are all in it together!!
So if you want your volunteering activities to add real bite to your C.V., make new friends, develop new skills or simply ‘ do your bit’ to help abandoned and neglected animals then we want to hear from you. Bolton and Bury Cat Rescue can offer you all this and more. Enthusiasm is a must, as well as dedication, good communication skills and a sense of humour.
But please proceed with caution; this volunteering opportunity will change your life!
